SOLD OUT!
The festivals kicked butt this summer. I had a blast while meeting tons of new peeps, hearing many new bands, breaking 23 G strings, and selling 100's of my CDs. It was a solid summer's work.
I then got a few days off to help dad bring in the hay so that the cows would have an abundant winter. It was so rainy this summer that all the local farmers found it near impossible to put up their crops. So sad.
I celebrated my bday with 3 small children in a canoe, paddling lake Francois. So much fun and so real. Real is important when you are in this business.
So now I am running around frantically getting ready for Berlin and then Scandinavia and then England and then New York and then Canada. It is nuts. Posters need to be made, permits need to be filled out, and the list goes on. See you all on the other side of the Atlantic. So stoked...

Went from +10 celcius to +38 celcius! Regina Folkfest rocked with the highlight being the workshop with Black Umfolosi and MIHIRANGI. Each song was lifted to the next level. I was almost crying when Black Umfolosi started singing on "Yah Yahs". Canadian festivals kick ass that way. So much cross collaberation of cultures.
Now I am at the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival with a new bass player. Ian McElroy is going to be joining me this weekend along with allstar, Joby Baker on drums. Time to go swimming now.
The Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition is working to foster a healthy, sustainable economy and healthy cultures rooted in the thriving wild salmon watershed of the Skeena River.

I miss the Rocker Girls, I miss the staff, and I miss flying to festivals on the weekend. But I am loving the northern vacation lifestyle as I hang out in the sun, swim in the water, turn some hay, and eat greens from the garden. I have a few more days left and then it is time to get back on the road. The Regina Folkfest is next and I am looking forward to playing right before Blue Rodeo on the Sunday night mainstage. I will have with me my Canadian Allstar rhythm section of Joby Baker and Dustin Roy...lucky me. So for now I am going to inhale the beauty and solitude while I can. I put new pics up for the world to see...check out the photo gallery.
