I am home. It is a wonderful thing. There is snow and wind ripping through my little cabin in the woods and I am loving it. The tour was great with a lot of progress made and much ground covered. This morning I did an interview with New York based magazine, Relix- the result of my journey east and the hard work of my manager Craig. It went well and I then carried on building my floor. After years of living in a van, hotel room, bus, ect, I am loving working with my hands and building my cabin just as my grandmother did 60 years ago. For once I feel tied to something and slightly rooted. It should make touring that much easier I reckon.
The artwork for the new CD is almost done. It would have been done ages ago had I not been so picky and peristent that it be perrrrfect. The music is huge thus...

And it rocked. My finger hurts cuz it rocked so bad. Bad being good. The Dakota Tavern is my place. The people are incredibly beautiful and excited. Darcy Yates and Chris Henry delivered the fattest groove ever. Marie sang her spot on harmonies. During the second set I was so happy to be joined by a talented guitar player named Aifee (sp?). He had just finished playing for Leslie Feist at the Air Canada Centre and then came over to jam. His intricate melodies lifted the songs. We played for a long time. We then had the heavy load out, 2 hour sleep, and then early flight to Ottawa. Thank you Rachel, Connie, Suzie, and Emilyn for giving us a place to crash. Much appreciated. Now I wait for new rhythm section and start all over again.

I am loving the air mattress and the Wi-Fi...little luxuries on the road. It is morning again and I am on a mission to find CCR lyrics and sun-dried tomatoes. I have promised to wine and dine guitar goddess, Suzy Vinnick, with an exquisite RvZ breakfast while reviewing my notes for the big rock show tonight at the Dakota Lounge. Yesterday I had a busy day buying wigs, taking Toronto street cars, exploring the famous Kensington market, rehearsing with the boys from Flash Lightnin', and guesting on a Betty and the Bobs show at Hugh's Room. It was full on but perfect.
The Boathouse Show in Kitchener was also fun. I was excited about the Butternut Squash Soup and the excellent view of the swans. Both Marie and I played our hearts out and then enjoyed some prairie pickin' by Deep Dark Woods, a great quartet from Saskatoon.
So I shall begin the day by unairing my mattress and proceed with a coffee followed by an egg concoction. Bis spater.
